On or about April 18, 2018, while the LVN’s daughter was a patient in a medical facility in Houston, the LVN inappropriately started an IV on her daughter, when the assigned nurse was unable to do so. The LVN was not an employee of the hospital or assigned to the patient. Her conduct violated professional boundaries and could have interfered or disrupted the patient’s treatment as the IV had to be removed and restarted by a staff nurse.

In response, the LVN states the only reason she started the IV was that the assigned nurse failed multiple times and asked her to do it.

The LVN also states the only reason she started the IV was that the assigned nurse failed multiple times and asked her to do it.

The Texas Board of Nursing sent a letter to the LVN regarding the issue so then she can have the chance to defend herself. However, she was not able to provide a good defense attorney for herself. Therefore, the Board of Nursing placed her LVN license to a disciplinary action instead.
