A licensed nurse in Texas whether an RN or an LVN can and may be subjected to a disciplinary proceeding before the Texas Board of Nursing. Whenever a LVN or RN finds herself in such situation, she will need to find the best nurse attorney in the country. This is important, as it is her only chance to protect her license. Otherwise, the Board of Nursing may find her guilty in the administrative case and order for the revocation of her license.

At the time of the initial incident, an RN was employed as a Registered Nurse (RN) at a hospital in Tyler, Texas, and had been in that position for three (3) years and one (1) month.

On or about August 23, 2018, while employed as a Registered Nurse (RN), the RN posted protected health information regarding a patient to a social media webpage. The RN’s conduct was in violation of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).

In regards to the incident that happened, the RN admits to writing a post on a “secret” social media webpage but states she did not post any identifying patient information or photos. The RN further states that removed her post the following day, at the request of her supervisor.

The following incident and defense against the case caused the Texas Board of Nursing to place the RN and her license into disciplinary proceedings. She would have sought assistance from a good nurse attorney to provide clarifications for the case.
