When facing any charges it is best to seek help from a nurse attorney. A nurse attorney is someone who represents RNs and LVNs in court. They are also the ones who react and make decisions quickly on demanding conditions. L191021N0998

However, some nurses tend to face these results instead without thinking that nurse attorneys are always reliable for matters such as these.

This is what happened to a certain LVN in Houston, Texas in 2018. During the time of the initial incident, she was employed in a healthcare facility in Houston and had been in the position for seventeen years.

On or about October 12, 2018, while employed as a Licensed Vocational Nurse in a rehabilitation center in Houston, the LVN  left a patient who is identified as a “high risk” for falls, unattended in the restroom. Subsequently, the patient fell while in the restroom alone and sustained a left parietal subarachnoid hemorrhage.

This conduct by the LVN’s conduct may have contributed to the patient’s injury sustained from the additional fall and unnecessary exposed the patient to an increased risk of falls.

The Texas Board of Nursing gave the LVN the chance to defend herself. In response to the incident, the LVN states after assisting the patient to the commode, she left the patient at that time to go and answer other call lights on the unit. She states the patient’s bathroom call light alarmed and while she was making her way back to her room, the patient had apparently tried to transfer herself from the commode back to the wheelchair unassisted and fell.

The LVN states the patient was found on the floor in the bathroom by her wheelchair. She states she immediately called the RN to come in to assess the patient. She states the patient was not in any apparent distress and no notable injuries but stated that she did hit her head.

The LVN further states the LVN continued to assess the patient at that time and then the patient was safely transferred back to her bed. She states she does realize that she should have used better judgment during this particular situation.

However, she was not able to provide a good defense for herself, especially when the evidence was brought up to her. Therefore, the Board placed her LVN license to a disciplinary action instead.

If you are summoned to appear before a licensing board regarding a disciplinary incident, you will need an experienced nurse attorney who knows how to handle nurse cases.

WHAT OUR CLIENTS SAY

I consider Yong as the biggest blessing in my life for this year. While I was practicing as a professional nurse in Texas, I received an order from the BON limiting my practice. This was problematic for me since I wanted to continue working for my employer. Yong was the one who wrote a reply letter to the Board and explained my innocence. He made all the necessary arrangements, which led to the issuance of an order in my favor…

I searched for a Texas lawyer who is good at handling nursing defense cases. During my research, I came across the website of Mr. Yong. I read positive comments from his previous clients, which made me become more interested in what he does. Because of this, I tried to send a message via the website. What made me really happy was the fact that a member of his team responded right away! He was so nice to me. I wish there won’t come a time that I would require the services of a lawyer. But right now, I have to say that I will recommend his firm to those who are in need!

The nice thing about Mr. Yong is that he is an expert in the legal aspect of the nursing industry. He has this ability in helping clients to feel calm and more relaxed while the case is going on. With his efforts, he was able to dismiss the case filed against me. I was able to keep my nursing license because of him. My case was quite difficult but he won! This only shows that he is an amazing and skilled lawyer in Texas.
