Our Doctors and Nurses will be in charge of what kind of treatment or medication the patients will have according to the result of a patient’s diagnosis. Accurate and appropriate diagnosis can result in positive health outcomes and improve the effectiveness of the treatment given to a patient. But if you are accused of inappropriate diagnosis to a patient, ask help from a nurse attorney.

An incident happened on or about June 5, 2018, while an RN was employed at a hospital in Conroe, Texas, and had been in that position for two (2) years and nine (9) months. The RN inappropriately diagnosed a patient with hypothyroidism, though the patient had thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) within normal levels. Additionally, the RN ordered unnecessary diagnostic laboratory studies, including Free T3 and Thyroid Peroxidase and Iodine Plus. The patient was then started on 60 mg of Armour Thyroid. Subsequently, the patient experienced an increase in anxiety. The RN’s conduct was likely to injure the patient from the adverse effects of unnecessary medication and supplements.

In response to the mentioned incident above, the RN states that normal lab levels for thyroid labs are reference ranges where 94% of individuals fall, so it is appropriate to treat someone on the lower end of the reference range if a patient reports symptoms. She also states that the patient reported a mild increase in anxiety after starting the new medication. The patient was told to lower the dose by half which she did not do. She adds that at the patient’s monthly follow-up visit, the patient reported feelings of increased anxiety that self-resolved without lowering the dose of medication and she reported she was tolerating the medication well.

As a result, the RN’s conduct put her into disciplinary actions by the Texas Board of Nursing. She failed to hire Texas BON lawyers to fully defend her case and have led to this decision by the Texas Board of Nursing. Hiring a nurse attorney for defense is applicable for any kind of accusation laid against an RN or LVN.

WHAT OUR CLIENTS SAY

I consider Yong as the biggest blessing in my life for this year. While I was practicing as a professional nurse in Texas, I received an order from the BON limiting my practice. This was problematic for me since I wanted to continue working for my employer. Yong was the one who wrote a reply letter to the Board and explained my innocence. He made all the necessary arrangements, which led to the issuance of an order in my favor…

I searched for a Texas lawyer who is good at handling nursing defense cases. During my research, I came across the website of Mr. Yong. I read positive comments from his previous clients, which made me become more interested in what he does. Because of this, I tried to send a message via the website. What made me really happy was the fact that a member of his team responded right away! He was so nice to me. I wish there won’t come a time that I would require the services of a lawyer. But right now, I have to say that I will recommend his firm to those who are in need!

The nice thing about Mr. Yong is that he is an expert in the legal aspect of the nursing industry. He has this ability in helping clients to feel calm and more relaxed while the case is going on. With his efforts, he was able to dismiss the case filed against me. I was able to keep my nursing license because of him. My case was quite difficult but he won! This only shows that he is an amazing and skilled lawyer in Texas.
