A nurse is expected to give the best care for patients and also expected to appropriately follow a physician’s order. Any missed order or failure to follow a physician’s order can bring great harm to any patient. This can result in poor recovery result for any patient. If an RN is involved in such conduct, a nurse attorney can help in any way.

At the time of the incident, an RN was employed as a Registered Nurse at a hospital in Pearland, Texas, and had been in that position for two (1) years and nine (5) months.

On or about January 25, 2019, the RN failed to conduct point-of-care (POC) blood glucose monitoring checks every two (2) hours on a patient, despite reviewing the order at 22:30. Subsequently, no POC blood glucose checks were conducted on the patient until January 26, 2019, at 07:18. The RN’s conduct exposed the patient unnecessarily to a risk of experiencing unrecognized clinical complications.

In response to the incident, the RN states he made an error and simply missed this order to assess the blood glucose every two hours as ordered by the PCP. He states at times their unit has a PCT/CA to assess the blood glucose on the unit but he doesn’t believe they had one that night.

As a conclusion to the behavior and actions made by the RN, the Board has come to the decision that the RN shall be subjected to discipline. This is cause pursuant to Section 301.452(b)(10)&(13), Texas Occupations Code. The RN failed to hire a nurse attorney to fully defend her case and had led to this decision of the Board.

WHAT OUR CLIENTS SAY

I consider Yong as the biggest blessing in my life for this year. While I was practicing as a professional nurse in Texas, I received an order from the BON limiting my practice. This was problematic for me since I wanted to continue working for my employer. Yong was the one who wrote a reply letter to the Board and explained my innocence. He made all the necessary arrangements, which led to the issuance of an order in my favor…

I searched for a Texas lawyer who is good at handling nursing defense cases. During my research, I came across the website of Mr. Yong. I read positive comments from his previous clients, which made me become more interested in what he does. Because of this, I tried to send a message via the website. What made me really happy was the fact that a member of his team responded right away! He was so nice to me. I wish there won’t come a time that I would require the services of a lawyer. But right now, I have to say that I will recommend his firm to those who are in need!

The nice thing about Mr. Yong is that he is an expert in the legal aspect of the nursing industry. He has this ability in helping clients to feel calm and more relaxed while the case is going on. With his efforts, he was able to dismiss the case filed against me. I was able to keep my nursing license because of him. My case was quite difficult but he won! This only shows that he is an amazing and skilled lawyer in Texas.
