Losing your license may greatly affect your future career, but only if you failed to hire a nurse attorney for the case. There are some RNs and LVNs who missed their chances to get their license saved from any sanction or even in revocation just because they weren’t able to hire any nurse attorney to defend them. This RN from Fredericksburg, Texas happens to be one of them.

At the time of the incident, an RN was employed as a Registered Nurse at a hospital in Plano, Texas, and had been in that position for two (2) years.

It was on or about January 6, 2019, the RN was found unresponsive in her home with three (3)
medication bottles, with the patients’ names, marked over, on her nightstand. The RN was subsequently transported to the hospital for further treatment. Additionally, law enforcement determined one (1) of the medication bottles to be Methadone and belonged to one (1) of the RN’s former patients. The RN’s condition could have affected her ability to recognize subtle signs, symptoms, or changes in the patient’s conditions, and could have affected her ability to make more rational, accurate, and appropriate assessments, and judgments. Additionally, the RN’s conduct was likely to defraud the patients of the cost of the medications.

In response, the RN states that on January 6, 2019, she was treated by emergency medical services for shallow breathing, low heart rate, and unresponsiveness, and was transported to a facility for several hours and then subsequently transported to another facility for further treatment. The RN relates she does not recall the events that took place leading up to January 6, 2019.

The Board finds that there exists a serious risk to public health and safety as a result of the RN’s conduct and her condition that could have affected her ability and as being a nurse that provides care to patients.

The Texas Board of Nursing subjected the LVN and her license to disciplinary action. The assistance of a nurse attorney could have helped the case become better for the RN. So if you ever encounter such an issue, it’s best to contact Nurse Attorney Yong J. An at (832) 428-5679 for a confidential consultation.

WHAT OUR CLIENTS SAY

I consider Yong as the biggest blessing in my life for this year. While I was practicing as a professional nurse in Texas, I received an order from the BON limiting my practice. This was problematic for me since I wanted to continue working for my employer. Yong was the one who wrote a reply letter to the Board and explained my innocence. He made all the necessary arrangements, which led to the issuance of an order in my favor…

I searched for a Texas lawyer who is good at handling nursing defense cases. During my research, I came across the website of Mr. Yong. I read positive comments from his previous clients, which made me become more interested in what he does. Because of this, I tried to send a message via the website. What made me really happy was the fact that a member of his team responded right away! He was so nice to me. I wish there won’t come a time that I would require the services of a lawyer. But right now, I have to say that I will recommend his firm to those who are in need!

The nice thing about Mr. Yong is that he is an expert in the legal aspect of the nursing industry. He has this ability in helping clients to feel calm and more relaxed while the case is going on. With his efforts, he was able to dismiss the case filed against me. I was able to keep my nursing license because of him. My case was quite difficult but he won! This only shows that he is an amazing and skilled lawyer in Texas.
