Accusations are stressful issues for an RN or LVN, except when a Texas BON attorney assists you against the case. The Texas Board of Nursing is responsible for all hearings against RNs and LVNs undergoing a case that may revoke, suspend, or only discipline their license. Take note that a nurse attorney can also defend a nurse’s license against accusations.

At the time of the incident, an RN was employed as a Registered Nurse at a hospital in McAllen, Texas, and had been in that position for three (3) months.

On or about March 5, 2019, and March 6, 2019, while employed as a Registered Nurse, the RN failed to label, store and process a urine specimen for a patient within clinical standards of practice. The RN submitted a urine sample to the lab that had been sitting out at room temperature since the previous day. Subsequently, the patient needed to return to provide a new urine sample. The RN’s conduct exposed the patient to a risk of harm from inaccurate clinical diagnoses made using an inappropriate specimen.

In response to the incident, the RN states that a urine sample was accidentally left out overnight and the very next morning, she brought it to the lab. The RN states that later the same day, the patient returned and gave a new fresh specimen. The RN states that she made a mistake because she was only thinking of how to achieve the end goal as quickly as possible.

Because of this, the RN was summoned by the Texas Board of Nursing to defend her side but the RN failed to hire a nurse attorney to help her with her case and without proper defense, the Texas Board of Nursing then decided to place her RN license under disciplinary action.

WHAT OUR CLIENTS SAY

I consider Yong as the biggest blessing in my life for this year. While I was practicing as a professional nurse in Texas, I received an order from the BON limiting my practice. This was problematic for me since I wanted to continue working for my employer. Yong was the one who wrote a reply letter to the Board and explained my innocence. He made all the necessary arrangements, which led to the issuance of an order in my favor…

I searched for a Texas lawyer who is good at handling nursing defense cases. During my research, I came across the website of Mr. Yong. I read positive comments from his previous clients, which made me become more interested in what he does. Because of this, I tried to send a message via the website. What made me really happy was the fact that a member of his team responded right away! He was so nice to me. I wish there won’t come a time that I would require the services of a lawyer. But right now, I have to say that I will recommend his firm to those who are in need!

The nice thing about Mr. Yong is that he is an expert in the legal aspect of the nursing industry. He has this ability in helping clients to feel calm and more relaxed while the case is going on. With his efforts, he was able to dismiss the case filed against me. I was able to keep my nursing license because of him. My case was quite difficult but he won! This only shows that he is an amazing and skilled lawyer in Texas.
