It’s best to seek the help of a Houston Nurse Lawyer when facing different complaints and allegations. However, some nurses tend to face these results instead without thinking that nurse attorneys are always reliable for matters such as these.

On or about April 27, 2016, the RN may have lacked fitness to practice nursing in that she was observed exhibiting impaired behavior, including but not limited to: acting very hyper and non-focused, forgetting to see patients, and having mood-swings. She was asked to submit a specimen for a drug screen but she left the facility without complying with the request.

The RN’s condition could have affected her ability to recognize subtle signs, symptoms or changes in patients’ conditions, and could have affected her ability to make rational, accurate, and appropriate assessments, judgments, and decisions regarding patient care, thereby placing the patients in potential danger.

During the hearing, the RN denies exhibiting impaired behavior, including but not limited to: acting very hyper and non focused, forgetting to see patients, and having mood swings. She states that she was overworked, overwhelmed, and very stressed. The RN further adds that she was assigned to eight (8) patients with high acuity and her complaint about patient safety was ignored.

The Texas Board of Nursing sent a letter to the RN regarding the issue so then she can have the chance to defend herself. However, she was not able to provide a good defense for herself. Therefore, the Board placed her RN license to a disciplinary action instead.
