Holding an RN license in Texas comes with certain obligations and responsibilities. If you want to continue practicing in the nursing profession, one of the important things that you need to do is to comply with the rules and regulations set by the Texas Board of Nursing (BON). Every RN in this state is subject to the jurisdiction of the Board of Nursing. Whenever there are administrative complaints against RN, the Board will have the authority to hear and decide the merits of the cases. That is why a nurse attorney is very important and is needed when fighting or dealing with any accusation or allegation cases filed against an RN or an LVN.

But in case an RN will be in trouble with any cases, a nurse attorney can help and defend any RNs from such situation.

At the time of the initial incident, an RN was employed as a Registered Nurse at a hospital in West Odessa, Texas, and had been in that position for ten (10) months.

On or about February 15, 2020, while employed as a Registered Nurse, the RN accessed the medical record of the Patient. approximately five (5) times without authorization. The RN’s conduct exposed the patient unnecessarily to risk of harm from use, accessing, or disclosure of their confidential medical information without their written authorization and placed the facility in violation of HIPAA (The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act).

In response, the RN states she has never accessed the medical records of the Patient. without authorization. The RN states she only accessed the record at the request of the Patient’s emergency contact to determine if she had contact with the patient or if she was part of the plan of care.

But due to what had happened, the Board, therefore, decided to put the RN into discipline. Putting the RN into disciplinary proceedings will ensure that she will perform even better in the future or will do the right things.

If you’re facing cases such as this, be sure to hire a nurse attorney who can fully assist you. Texas nurse attorney Yong J. An is an experienced nurse attorney for more than 14 years. To contact him for inquiries or to schedule a confidential consultation, dial (832) 428-5679 to proceed.

WHAT OUR CLIENTS SAY

I consider Yong as the biggest blessing in my life for this year. While I was practicing as a professional nurse in Texas, I received an order from the BON limiting my practice. This was problematic for me since I wanted to continue working for my employer. Yong was the one who wrote a reply letter to the Board and explained my innocence. He made all the necessary arrangements, which led to the issuance of an order in my favor…

I searched for a Texas lawyer who is good at handling nursing defense cases. During my research, I came across the website of Mr. Yong. I read positive comments from his previous clients, which made me become more interested in what he does. Because of this, I tried to send a message via the website. What made me really happy was the fact that a member of his team responded right away! He was so nice to me. I wish there won’t come a time that I would require the services of a lawyer. But right now, I have to say that I will recommend his firm to those who are in need!

The nice thing about Mr. Yong is that he is an expert in the legal aspect of the nursing industry. He has this ability in helping clients to feel calm and more relaxed while the case is going on. With his efforts, he was able to dismiss the case filed against me. I was able to keep my nursing license because of him. My case was quite difficult but he won! This only shows that he is an amazing and skilled lawyer in Texas.
