When someone filed a complaint against you, your license could be put in danger if not defended by a nurse attorney in Houston. An example of this happened to an LVN in Houston.

On or about June 12, 2019, while employed as a Licensed Vocational Nurse in a hospital in Houston, the LVN falsely documented the administration of medications in patients’ Medication Administration Records (MAR) in that medications were found in her purse. Her conduct created an inaccurate medical record and failure to administer medication as ordered by the physician could have resulted in non-efficacious treatment.

Subsequently, the LVN failed to take precautions to secure two (2) tabs of Divalproex 125mg, two (2) tabs of Levetiracetam 750mg, one (1) tab of Montelukast sodium 10ing, one (1) tab of Levothyroxine 50mcg, and one (1) single dose packet of Fiber-Star belonging to the facilily and patients thereof, in that the medications and Fiber-Stal were found in her purse. Respondent’s conduct was likely to defraud the facility and patients thereof of the cost of the medications.

The Texas Board of Nursing is the one who has full jurisdiction on cases involving RNs and LVNs. Therefore, the LVN was summoned by the Texas Board of Nursing to explain her side.

During the hearing, the LVN states she may have dropped medications into her briefcase, not her purse, by accident, but denies purposefully putting the medications in there. She states the briefcase was sitting open in one of the medication rooms. The LVN further states she was assigned to units on opposite ends of the building and was trying to complete the medication passes, so she was moving quickly.

The LVN failed to hire a nurse attorney in Houston to help her with her case. Because of this, the Texas Board of Nursing suspended and disciplined the LVN.

WHAT OUR CLIENTS SAY

I consider Yong as the biggest blessing in my life for this year. While I was practicing as a professional nurse in Texas, I received an order from the BON limiting my practice. This was problematic for me since I wanted to continue working for my employer. Yong was the one who wrote a reply letter to the Board and explained my innocence. He made all the necessary arrangements, which led to the issuance of an order in my favor…

I searched for a Texas lawyer who is good at handling nursing defense cases. During my research, I came across the website of Mr. Yong. I read positive comments from his previous clients, which made me become more interested in what he does. Because of this, I tried to send a message via the website. What made me really happy was the fact that a member of his team responded right away! He was so nice to me. I wish there won’t come a time that I would require the services of a lawyer. But right now, I have to say that I will recommend his firm to those who are in need!

The nice thing about Mr. Yong is that he is an expert in the legal aspect of the nursing industry. He has this ability in helping clients to feel calm and more relaxed while the case is going on. With his efforts, he was able to dismiss the case filed against me. I was able to keep my nursing license because of him. My case was quite difficult but he won! This only shows that he is an amazing and skilled lawyer in Texas.
